Shortness of breath/asthma for over a month?

Shortness of breath/asthma for over a month?
I have asthma - induced by allergies. For the last month and a half I've had constant shortness of breath. My inhaler isn't any relief. It's not to the point I feel like I am going to pass out or anything that serious it's just really bothering me and uncomfortable. It feels like someone is sitting on the very very top of my chest. I have been to my allergist and a few weeks ago I even went to the ER. They gave me a breathing treatment and a round of steroids - no help. I also had a chest x-ray at that time. I've tried a variety of allergy meds too. I don't know why I can't get the shortness of breath to go away or how to fix this! Help

You should try a preventative inhaler for your asthma like Advair or Singulair. This will prevent your symptoms from happening and allow you to use your rescue inhaler less and hopefully less trips to the ER. I worry why the treatments and steroids in the ER are not working for you????... You need to see your pulmonologist more often to get your meds figured out. You are not being managed appropriately.
