I have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary decease and asthma I needs some idea to stop smoking?
I have tried the patches and a quit center and also the gum and lozenges. Maybe my problem is I don't want to quit as it is my time out from caring for my disabled daughter anyway does anyone have any sggestions? I been a smoker for 37 years. Dr says my lungs are in very bad shape. I really need some serious help here

Dont Stop!!! Whats the point if your lungs are already in bad shape, you will make it worse if you quit, because your body craves it to much now.

Wellbutrin/Zyban. Worked for me. I lost over 20 lbs. Had the energy of an eight year old. Felt amazing! Your daughter needs you around for a long time. What happens when you are gone?

I would think the warnings about cigarette smoking would be enough. People do it and when it starts killing them like they have been warned that it would it's boo hoo time. If someone knows that they are committing slow suicide and they don't love themselves enough to stop then nobody can help them.

My mom was diagnosed with emphazema and was a very heavy smoker for 30 years. She tried EVERYTHING to help her quit. What ended up working for her were these little puffer things called nicatrol inhalers. They give you the nicotine that you crave without all the bad chemicals and of course the smoke. Best Wishes on your health.

My uncle smoked for longer than you. He just got over lung and brain cancer. He was lucky that they found it soon, but he still went through hell with his surgeries and chemo. He hasnt smoked since and its been a few months now. Good for him!!!! I think that If I was diagnosed with what you have, it would be easier to quit. Keep trying, and it'll eventually work.
