Patient management for 18 months old, whose mother brought him to the ambulatory care center for the first time. She is concerned with his long lasting colds, wheezing, and frequent night time cough.' How should the clinician assess him at the first visit? Include history; physical examination and any things mom could do at home to help confirm the diagnosis of asthma. Based on the data collected, the asthma team believes that he probably has persistent asthma, but mom is quite resistant to this suggestion. How should the team respond to mom's reluctance about the diagnosis? Include why the team thinks his wheezing is asthma (what is the basis for the diagnosis) why it is important to treat him now and not wait till he's older. Including promoting health behavior change and factors that affect patient education. Discuss the key elements you will want to consider while trying to help his mother buy in to the diagnosis and treatment plan. Patient management-asthma: Mother is not entirely convinced. His mother is will to work with the team to develop a comprehensive asthma management plan for moderate persistent asthma. What should be included in the comprehensive asthma management plan? Please describe in detail. The next time you see him is in the urgent care department of your office. The team suspects an acute exacerbation. How will the team determine if this really is an acute exacerbation? Be sure to include both history and physical examination. The team confirms that he is having an acute exacerbation of his asthma and gives him appropriate initial treatment. He responds fairly well and the team needs to decide if it will be safe for him to continue treatment at home. What are the factors the team needs to consider in deciding if it is safe to send him home? Describe in detail. ..don't forget to write in detail you will get paid.

This sounds like homework...and is it legal to pay somebody for answering a question? I think it might violate something...
Anyway, I'm not a med student, so I don't have good $ 3 answer for you. I'm sorry.

Need more data. First, why is the mother reluctant about the diagnosis? Did she not seek out the assistance of the medical community to help her child. What was she hoping for, a band-aid, lollipop and everything would be better?
