can i home school myself online if im in the 8th grade?
ok so im almost 14 and im going into the 8th grade.
for about 2 years ive wanted to be homeschooled because;
most of the time girls pick on me and bully me. everyone says that their just jealous because i could have any guy i want and guys always talk to me. FYFREAKINI!...im not that kinda girl :|
and i want to be homeschooled also because of my religion....
i really want a better relationship with God and Jesus
but it seems to me like with public school, it pulls me away from that because all i hear
is everyone talking about sex and cussing and swearing and girls and guys my age
talking about 'that one night when we all were out until like 3am drinking and driving around with' so-and-so.
BUT...heres the thing, my dad isn't quite so smart and i don't think he can homeschool me/teach me BUT we know this lady that homeschools her children and maybe she could teach me?
idont know...but anyways...my counselor says i shouldn't be homeschooled because i wouldn't be "socialized".
well, everyone else says 'thats not always the case'.
and me and my dad dont have much money to buy books and stuff or whatever i need and we cant buy anything online because he have no credit card.
BUT....this summer, because my asthma got so bad this year...i missed ALOT of school and had to go to summerschool....
i personally believe that my grades would be higher if im homeschooled because i wouldnt have to really miss any school but no one will let me try it....theyll never know unless they let me try...right?!
what are some reasons on having to be homeschooled? i just basically listed them..kind of
but anyway,

I think you should just stay in school. When I was around your age and grade I also wanted to be home-schooled. I think a lot of kids do. I really really wanted to. I kind of felt the same as you, without the religion thing.
Now I am 21 and in college and I am very glad I went through school the regular way because it ended up being a lot of fun, I made a lot of friends and I learned a lot.

If you want to homeschool yourself, igore the naysayers. You will turn out smarter and more self-disciplined if you work independently. There is no reason to stay in an unhealthy environment.
Yes, there are many programs online. One that I know of because it is local to me is called Liberty Online Academy. Everything is independent and there are online activities to practice skills and a teacher that works with you. I know people who have used it with success.

Also, do a search with your parents. Try words such as homeschool online academy. There are many others out there.

I agree with you!! If I could do it all over I would have been home schooled. My little sisters where and they are perfectly social. :) And smart.
I would make a case for it, write out the pros and cons of home schooling and the pros and cons of going to traditional school and pray about it then bring it to your parents.
You obviously can read and write and articulate your self very well. I think you would be a good candidate for home schooling. You could totally teach your self. Go for it!! Don't back down. YOU GO GIRL!
