What is the difference between steroids and corticosteroids.?

What is the difference between steroids and corticosteroids.?
I take advair and flonase for asthma and allergies. Just wondering what you can tell me.

Answer by Jeffrey P
Steroids is a less specific term, including corticosteroids (eg. cortisone), mineralocorticoids (aldosterone), and sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone and androgens). Androgens are also know as anabolic steroids.

Often times in general use steroids and corticosteroids are used interchangeably.
