When should you go back to the doctors when you have pneumonia and asthma?

When should you go back to the doctors when you have pneumonia and asthma?
its day 3 of antibiotics and I return to work tomorrow (I wish!)..problem is the dizziness is still here and talking (which is what I do at my job) leaves me so breathless I want to pass out yet and add asthma to that..bleh! the night sweats are gross and yes..I have drowned myself in liquids and a lil bit of saltine crackers..so, now what?

autumm_1, I'd say the best rule is to go before you're dead. Good luck!!!

P. S. - Maybe when you go back to the dr., you could have him put leeches all over your body to suck out the poison. Just a suggestion.

Call in sick now. Next, call your doctor and tell him there's no improvement with the antibiotics. If he doesn't take you seriously or sort of blows you off, call another doctor A.S.A.P.! Find a respiratory specialist (lung doctor). Your asthma medication(s) may need to be increased or changed. If your symptoms suddenly get worse don't hesitate to call a the rescue squad! If you feel dizzy and light-headed do not try to drive. Your asthma reduces your blood oxygen level which can affect judgment. Pneumonia is nothing to fool with or take lightly! There is a strain of pneumacoccal(?) Pneumonia that can kill within 24 hours of contraction. Muppet creator Jim Henson died of it. I nearly lost my, asthmatic since birth, husband to it! Good luck, get well, and God be with you!
