Should I continue to take my asthma medication during pregnancy or wait?
I take Bronkaid for asthma on a regular basis. Right now I am 8 weeks pregnant and have since stopped since finding out about my pregnancy at 5 weeks. However since then my asthma has worsened at times. The soonest my OB can get me in is in a couple a weeks. For the time being should I resist from taking bronkaid and wait to hear from an OB or should I go ahead and take it when needed. Serious answers only! Thank you!

I would definately consult with your OB you should be on proair he/she can prescribe it for you. I believe bronkaid makes you too jumpy you should be on a prescription medication for asthma. YES its very important to take something asthma is very serious. Talk to your OB ASAP

I got asthma and my OB said that Albuterol is fine. You should to talk to your regular doctor about that just to be ready if there was a emergency or if you would have a asthma attack.

Well you could look up the health concerns or talk to a different doctor or a nurse and just ask your question.
To be honest, I'm not sure what you should do.
I wouldn't want to have athsma with no medication.
But I wouldn't want to harm my baby either.
Congratulations, though ((:

I have taken albuterol since the beginning of my pregnancy. My doctor will not allow me to use any inhalers with steroids in them so albuterol is the best option according to my doctor. Speak to your OB though. Asthma still needs to be treated throughout your pregnancy.

You want to ensure that you are getting as much oxygen to your baby as possible. I would recommend that you call your OB/GYN and talk to a nurse about whether the Bronkaid is okay for use, and they will tell you. My OB/GYN, all questions go to a VM, and then the nurses call you back with a response, so don't worry if you need to do this, they will get back to you.
