Running/Asthma question?

Running/Asthma question?
So, I'm getting back into training slowly, my indoor season is in mid november and after 3 months off I decided to start of as running three times a week. Today was my first day back on, I only did 20 minutes for a start off, and will add five minutes each day I run. Well anyway, I have year round allergies, and excercise enduced asthma, my inhaler is currently out, and I am renewing it when my season starts. How do you deal with your asthma without your inhaler? I kept having to stop my watch to catch my breath. :(.

Thanks!
I also got headaches as well.

I developed asthma last year when I first started running. Trying to beathe slower and longer just increases the wheezing for me and I find that if I do short puffy breathes works well for me.It's sort of like breathing which they taught me in labour classes, short quick breaths. I've been out for 3 miles and manage to get home doing it this way so I can finish my five miles.
