how do I treat chronic asthma without a inhaler?
I have no asthma medicine at the moment and no way to get to a hospital so would just laying low in bed would it help lessen the problem?

Asthma is triggered by something(s). If you avoid your asthma triggers, you should never have an asthma attack.
I know that is hard for some people. Some may not know what triggers it or can't avoid it. So you will need some medications or something like them. The underling cause of asthma is airway inflammation. You can treat inflammation with several "home remedies"
There are some foods that help fight inflammation. Cruciferous family or sometimes called the broccoli and cauliflower family are known ant inflammatory foods along with omega-3 rich fish like Salmon.
Caffeine is a mild bronchodilator. Much like a really weak inhaler, caffeine can help open the airy ways but you need to know that caffeine has side effects. All medications have side effects but caffeine has a lot of side effects compared to the bronchodilator effects.
Lastly, Exercise can be a trigger but its the only trigger you should not avoid. A fit body will breath better and use oxygen more efficiently.
I would check with a doctor before changing or modifying any asthma treatment plan.
