How would you view this and her?
One of my friends is kind of a private person - reserved and shy in a way - and doesn't like drawing attention to herself. But I recently got an email from her about an online fundraiser she's participating in. She has severe asthma and said that the fundraiser is through a non-profit national asthma foundation. She wants to spread awareness so she shared her story of how asthma has affected her life. It was well written and basically gave a lot of details about how much of a struggle it is for those who have severe asthma like herself. She mentioned how much medicine she takes (it's a lot), the side effects of the medicine, and what it's like to have to struggle to breathe. Very sad story.... She also said she's not comfortable asking people to donate their money so she basically made the page to spread awareness.
But because she's such a private, shy person, what would you think after seeing how much she revealed about herself and her struggle with this disease? How would you view her now? Would you think she's melodramatic?

She's absolutely NOT melodramatic. Those types would be talking about the struggling and suffering that they have from a common cold. This girl sounds like a real, genuine person who built up the courage to put her story out there despite the fact the she's not one for putting stories out there.
