Would Hookworms help this circumstance?
i was wondering if anyone here would know if contracting hookworms would cure a hyperactive thyroid cause by an attacking immune system?
i was just listening to a radio show, and the guy was talking about how hookworms can calm the human immune system, and cure things like Asthma and Allergies.
i have a hyperactive thyroid, this is caused by the swelling of my thyroid gland, due to my immune system attacking it.
because my hyperthyroidism is cause by an overactive immune system, could purposely contracting hook worms cure my hyperthyroidism, and thereby eliminate (or decrease) my need to take medication?

Probably not worth the risk. I saw a show on Dr. Oz about tape worm 'thereapy' (for weight loss) and he didn't recommend it because of the risks. I haven't heard anything about using hookworms for thyroid issues. Here's some more info:
