These symptoms are reallly bothering me, help?
well i was diagnosed with Mitral Valve prolapse after becoming short of breath while reading a book, checking email, and other things that shouldnt cause rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. i went to the cario doc and it was confirmed but im in excellent health otherwise.
i also may have excersize induced asthma (waiting for a chest xray and pulmonary cardiac stress test to be done)
and so i get out of breath sometimes just by doing little activity, even something like walking through the pharmacy.
i also feel elevated heart rate and strained breathing if im really tired.
like right now im just sitting and i feel slightly short of breath.
are those related to asthma or the mitral valve?
how can i make the symptoms go away?
what else could this be?
i cant live like this, being out of breath all the time.
im 20 never had any serious medical problems, no drinking, smoking, fast food, junk food (rarely)
i eat plenty of fruits and veggies

What a coincidence, nice to meet you my name is Igor, I live in Russia and about 5 months ago I had the same symptoms. I had a mitral valve prolaps all my live, never complained about it, never felt tired, use to be a state champ and things like that. Now I'm 20 and I had a open heart surgery 4 monts ago.
One day I just felt like I have shortens of breath, felt tiered all the time terrible feeling, and it never went away, not after I had that surgery.
I know what you're talking about, it is horrible, i agree but there is a way out and you know what it's not that bad, I mean the surgery went ok and it defenetly did worth it.
If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to e-mail me at any time, I'll be glad to help you.

I think your situation is one that requires more medical intervention. However, you might find this site helpful in providing you with some more information about the things you're dealing with. http://www.smart-heart-living.com/Heart-valve.html
