did you get asthma or a bad cold during pregnancy?
I think I've got pregnancy-induced asthma. I'm 6 months along and I think mine was initially because of an allergic reaction to something.
First I broke out in a really itchy rash. That lasted about 2 weeks - it was terrible bc I couldn't sleep. Then I started to have the symptoms of what I thought were a bad cold - esp. a terrible cough which kept me up at night. But then yesterday I could not breathe at all and had to go the the ER. Lo and behold the inhaler they gave me really helped.
I never had asthma before. I had some allergies, esp. to cats and certain types of prescription meds, but apparently getting asthma during pregnancy is pretty common. I'd never heard of this before. Did anything like this happen to you? Did you know what it was? How long did you wait before you got treatment? My baby seems ok, still kicking and punching, and I am told the inhaler medication is safe, but I still wonder if there isn't more to the story, maybe asthma plus a bad cold? I don't know, and my docs still aren't quite sure what's up.

I have asthma, i've had it since I was 8 and I am now 22. I have one child already and pregnant with two and they are all fine, this medication doesn't go into your blood stream so cannot affect the baby.
I have never heard of pregnancy inducing it. But I know only too well that pregnancy makes it worse.

That wouldn't surprise me i am pregnant with my 4th bub now and every time i get pregnant come about the 8th week i come down with a nasty chest infection and i usually get a couple threw out my pregnancies and i hardly get them when im not pregnant im 23 weeks now and i have my second chest infection of this pregnancy's its really weird its generally the only kind of illness i get when im pregnant which is strange cause i have a very low immune system and when im not pregnant i get everything that is going around like colds, stomach upsets and after i have my babies i always seem to get really really sick with some kind of infection its like the baby is almost protecting me really bizarre
