Can you acquire Asthma by moving to Los Angeles?
I've heard LA has a really high incidence of asthma, especially in children. By moving from somewhere with fresh air, like Virginia to LA, can I acquire Asthma as an adult?

Na. You acquire 'L.A.' and this is infinitely worse.

i just recently moved to L.A. as well and have found myself being very short of breath after jogging a mile, something i used to be able to do quite easily, i am asking my doc about this at the next appointment, i fear i may have developed asthma.

Pollution exacerbates the incidence of asthma and LA is well-known for theirs. If you have a respiratory ailment already (reactive airways or something) you may well find you blossom to full-blown asthma.

yes. children who live in large cites do have more chance of developing respiratory problems asthma being a common one.
the more pollution the worse it is . the more chemicals the child is around the worse it is . chemicals mean carpet new carpet for instance is a chemical nightmare.
new homes are bad news. as is mold . clean fresh air
no pets or limited exposer to pets ie not allowed in bed room and lots more cleaning up the house the better.
all of this contributes to asthma.
new homes that have that new high r value and use heat pumps to bring in the fresh air so your suppose to keep the windows closed are bad news as well . open the windows keep them open get real fresh air .
