Been coughing for over 2 years with diminished lung capacity?
I started coughing three days before I left the East Coast. Still coughed when I arrived in Seattle for a couple of days. Left Seattle and arrived on tropical island and still coughing two years later. Coughs have gotten stronger. Have made me light-headed multiple times and takes alot out of me.
Air Function Test results: Scored low and could not give me the Methocoline Challenge in 2009 (Not sure if spelled correctly).
AFT: Scored lower in last part of 2010.
No asthma based on the medicine trial of Prednisone due to low respiratory improve on AFT!
No lung disease based on CT Scan
X-rays show my lungs are clear
Went back to Virginia for 25 days and still coughed just as bad. No allergies found at this time that are different than previous test. Still coughing on my tropical island. Conclude Geographical region is not an issue as thought as a possibility.
Running out of ideas. I feel winded and over exertion makes me cough (Cardio and weights from time to time)
Any ideas for suggestions? Thanks!

Try dissolving a pinch of salt on your tongue and washing it down with 16 oz of water - not cold water, but water closer to body temperature (it's absorbed easier). This should help.

How are your sinuses? Are they dry or closed up? Post Nasal Drip? May I suggest trying a neti pot to clear the sinuses, see if that doesn't help. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=neti+pot+you+tube+video&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Here's what I know about coughing, it's the body's way of trying to expel something - so one has to assume that you have something in your system that the body is trying to deal with. It could be something as simple as dust, or could be a sensitivity to particles in fabric, to anything you may be using. Have you changed any of the following: Shampoo, toothpaste, cologne, soap? Do you use chemicals for cleaning? Do you wear synthetic fabrics or 100% cotton? What kinds of food do you eat? Did you have an illness before this started - could be a virus in your system? Did you get a pet? Or start wearing wool? Here's what to look at, something has changed with you - why not take a look at everything you use, everything you come into contact with, everything that's happened from the beginning - see if there isn't something that may not cause allergic reaction but could be irritating enough to cause this coughing. There was a trigger at the beginning, and locale has not changed that, so it is something you took with you and stays with you - my thinking it has to be something that you acquired and keep whether it is an infection of something you have near you.
In the meantime, try taking more vitamin C, it has antihistamine and anti-viral qualities. Take A and E also, A supports the mucous membranes and E has anti-inflammatory properties. You can get the combo A, Cand E in one capsule in the pharmacy - they are the antioxidants - Ocuvite is one brand you can get at places like Rite Aid or Walgreens.
I found some more info for you:

EDIT: One last thing I thought of - mold - have you been tested for a fungus infection, could you have been having contact with any kinds of molds? Even eating cheeses could do that.
