I want to go in the Marines but my asthma prevents me?

I want to go in the Marines but my asthma prevents me?
My asthma isn't bad as a whole, I'm actually lucky, dog hair doesn't bother me, etc...
But warm humid air makes breathing harder, not impossible, but harder.
But I want to go in the marines. Another thing: my asthma does is for every 2 minutes of exercise my asthma starts up again. And I don't like causing my asthma to start, because then I get dizzy, my head feels numb, my eyes blur, and I feel like collapsing and I may pass out. And if that doesn't happen (some of them symptoms happen, even with my inhaler.) the asthma, the inflammation doesn't go away so with every breath I feel the asthma.
So what can i do? I really want to go in the marines. I want to, I have to. Its not a want, a need. A need to protect this country, this country and everyone in it, whether they deserve it or not. To protect the little innocent children on the playground, screaming and laughing...swinging and sliding, the ones with their moms and dads who are just learning how to walk.... I have to protect them. Have to protect this country.
and exercise doesn't help since it triggers my asthma.
Running brings it up like a wind does a wild fire, and after 40 crunches my stomach won't release, won't relax, making me unable to breath. And the same happens with any other exercise that targets one area, my arms, etc. Now I can do lunges and things with my legs (but running) but it still brings my asthma up.
Swimming is the only exercise which doesn't bring it up.

Sorry man.The USMC just isn't for you. It's A LOT of exercising. Asthma after age 13 is an automatic permanent DQ.

I had asthma as a child. I was lucky enough to grow out of it in my younger teen years so this was much easier for me. I was able to simply lie and tell them I never had it. Problem solved. The reason I am telling you this is not to give you ideas. On the contrary, I would strongly discourage you from doing that. All services run and do physical training (PT) at least 3 times a week. The Corps especially. We are the elite force other than special forces. You will be in hot, humid weather. You will be running. You will be fighting. If the man next to you can't trust that you are physically fit, people will die. Sorry brother, while I admire your desire to do your duty, the military isn't for everyone. There are other things you can do such as get a job as a civilian with the military. That may not require so much PT. Maybe you can check that out? Try www.donhr.navy.mil/ that is department of the navy (Navy and Marine Corps) civilian jobs. Civilians are working closer and closer with the military these days. Again, please don't lie your way into the military, I would hate to hear about you or someone else get hurt because of it. Also you could be brought up on charges for false enlistment. I hope it works out for you and I am proud to call you an American and a brother. Semper Fi young warrior

Im sorry to tell you forget the MARINES. They do a lot of running and if your Asthma flares up from running, you would not make it out of Boot Camp. I was in the Marines and you have to run 5+ miles just to prepare for the 3mile PT test. You would probably have a better chance in the Air Force or Navy, provided you could get a wavier for Asthma, which is very unlikely. It is unfortunate you have this disorder that will keep you out of the military. If you cant run at a minium of 2 miles without a flare up then your Military options are gone. I do know that the army has an Alternative even for the PT test of swimming, but again its not easy. They would very easily weed you out in basic training. I wish you the best and commend you for wanting to serve your country.
